1st GOLSPIE SCOUT GROUP

with all 4 Sections of BEAVER SCOUTS on Monday just after school.

Slightly later start on Tuesday for CUB SCOUTS, followed by SCOUTS

and EXPLORER SCOUTS meeting weekly at the Church Hall.

Leaders with all Sections but would always welcome more parents or helpers to step forward to maintain a full programme.  When Leaders are away though illness or holidays, etc it can be difficult to avoid cancelling a Meeting.  Looking at the vast range of activities, trips and learning skills on offer to young people in Scouting , it is not surprising there are waiting lists all over the UK.  What is missing is adults to fulfill our youngsters’ dreams.

Each Section has a wide choice available dependent on adult support

Challenge Badges, Activity badges for Beaver Scouts and Chief Scout’s Award, following on to the selection of Cub Scout Challenge, Activities, and Stages badges.  Next comes  a huge range for Scouts with Activities, Challenges and Stage badges. For Explorer Scouts older age Activities, Challenge and Stages and Awards:  leading to the Young Leader Award for Explorers helping in other Sections

leading to achieving the last Chief Scout’s Award, and going on to the ultimate achievement of Queen’s Scout Award, which can be linked to the Duke of Edinburgh Award all the way.  Many young people and old adults will testify to the Career Opportunities, and Promotions in their choices from Leadership Skills gained through Scouts.

Sandcastles

Golspie Beavers took part in the "Cheeky Monkey's Marathon Challenge"

for the Children with Leukaemia charity. The task was to create 26 "things"

each as a group and these Beavers chose

to make 26 sandcastles each on Golspie beach.

With sponsorship, half the money raised goes to the charity and half awarded to the group.  A total of over £200 has been collected so far by the Beavers, with more due in. ...
