ROSS & SUTHERLAND DISTRICT CONGRATULATIONS

HALL OF FAME

Our Congratulations to Beaver Scouts who have achieved this impressive Award

Our thanks to Leaders, Helpers and parents for their help and encouragement to their youngsters adding to their busy lives at quite a young age group

Over 2008 -2009

As mentioned on another page Beaver Scouting is well and thriving in Ross and Sutherland

Particular mention again is for the new Beaver Colony at

Marybank Village Hall called 1st Fairburn.

Very busy, full of get up and go with experience of running Rainbow Guides, the new Leader - Nicola has got the Colony off to a fantastic start with Fund Raising, very supportive parents and their local school teachers.  Lots of ideas for Meetings and future outings and keen for Badge work.

Our District Commissioner and myself with my wife have been along.  We expected a noisy bunch youngsters running about and thought "Oh dear" but when we were there, the noise of the 'run about' finished. They sat on the floor and got involved with what activity we did with them - we could have heard a mouse sneeze !  One little boy boy whispered to me "we are being very quiet!" and I wispered back "and we are very surprised!"  wonderful.

Again what a super start back in that area again.

Beaver Leaders have a free SCOUTING Magazine Supplement sent regularly full of ideas on how to celebrate this special year of our youngest Section in Scouting.

Your badges could be put on a Camp blanket/ old waistcoat/ camp hat or framed to remind you of your of your memories in your Beaver Colony.

When you leave Beaver Scouts ask a family member to fix your uniform badges on to a picture frame to have as a reminder of your fun time in your Colony.

Parents must remember not to pass old uniforms into Sales or Adverts with badges still sewn on to an unknown purpose, where they could be used for unauthorised purposes
